This engaging and informative webinar is designed for professionals seeking a foundational understanding of brain injury. Participants will explore the anatomy and physiology of the brain, gain insight into the mechanisms and effects of brain injuries, and learn the critical distinctions between traumatic brain injury (TBI) and mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), commonly known as concussion. The session also includes essential data, key facts, and answers to frequently asked questions, equipping attendees with the knowledge to better support individuals impacted by brain injury in their field of work. Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS)
Ensure you remain a valuable, marketable, and well-informed asset in the field of brain injury services. All new paid applicants will receive a one-year subscription to the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation.
Requirements & Eligibility
Applicants must have 500 hours of current, verifiable direct contact experience with an individual or individuals with brain injury.
Experience can be paid employment and/or academic internship. Volunteer work and self-recovery does not qualify.
The qualifying experience must have included formal supervision or have been conducted while the applicant operated under a professional license. If the applicant is operating under a professional license, than he/she must be in good standing.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Brain Injury Fundamentals Certificate
Developed by experienced clinicians and rehabilitation professionals, Brain Injury Fundamentals is a training and certificate program designed to address the unique needs and challenges of those who care for or encounter individuals with brain injury.
Who is it for?
Anyone who cares for or interacts with individuals with brain injuries, including:
Non-licensed direct care staff
Facility staff
Family members and friends
First responders
Community members
No prior experience or education is required.
