Life with Brain Injury Conference Promises a Day of Connection, Community, and Inspiration.

Columbia, S.C. — July 21 — The Brain Injury Association of SC (BIASC) and the SC Brain Injury Leadership Council (SCBILC) will host the Life with Brain Injury Annual Conference on Friday, August 1, at the Brookland Banquet and Conference Center in West Columbia. The event brings together brain injury survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and advocates for a day of learning, connection, and shared strength.

This year’s keynote speaker is Wynn Godbold, a nationally recognized leadership coach, author, teacher, and motivational speaker. Her keynote address will inspire attendees with her empowering message of personal ownership, transformation, and resilience. Wynn blends sweet Southern charm with bold honesty to help people break barriers and turn vision into action.

A full day of breakout sessions will offer something for everyone in the brain injury community, including a workshop on mending brokenness through the art of kintsugi. In this unique, hands-on session, participants will repair broken pottery as a powerful metaphor for exploring resilience, healing, and the importance of human connection.

Additionally, participants will hear from dynamic speakers on topics such as:

  • Music therapy

  • Financial independence

  • Workplace rights

  • Resilience after trauma

  • Relationship healing

  • And much more!

“We look forward to welcoming attendees from across the state for a day that centers community, healing, and shared knowledge,” said Joyce Davis, Executive Director of BIASC. “This conference reflects our commitment to creating a better future through brain injury prevention, research, education, and advocacy.”

Registration is open through July 25.
